Module Overview

Building Performance: Timber & Steel Technologies

The Building Performance: Timber & Steel Technologies module develops the learner’s understanding of the theories, principles and application of building performance, in the context of multi-storey residential timber buildings and medium span non-residential steel framed buildings, emphasising the importance of achieving an integrated approach to the incorporation of building performance and building services in building design. The learner will be able to evaluate the environmental impact of their proposed design and demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between various sustainable strategies including developing a knowledge of the principals of mechanical and electrical engineering.
