To build the student’s knowledge, skill and competence by increasing their familiarity with location production equipment, and to be able to work creatively in a team following a set brief and deadline displaying a range of technical/ artistic and editorial skills, taking full personal responsibility and autonomy for their work within the team.Students may select to specialise in either camera or editing techniques. Students may opt to follow a theory strand in lieu of the practical project/ exercise.
Project Pre-Production
Undertake the development of a location based project to a set brief.
Practical Training
Further develop the key concepts of location material acquisition, continuity and editing principles.
Location Recording
Show familiarity with a camera, sound and lighting equipment when used on location.
Non-Linear Video Editing
Able to edit using a Non linear edit suite, log and capture, video and audio edit, and add graphics.
