Google in the House!
The Google Data Centre Caravan Tour arrived on Thursday 29th September from Finland to the TU Dublin Tallaght Campus on their final leg of the tour.
It was a superb opportunity for our students and staff to meet and chat with Googlers on topics ranging from green energy, software development, ethical AI, cyber security, data centre operations, career opportunities, their presence in Dublin as the Google EMEA HQ and well as Tallaght where their data centre facility that has been in operation since 2012. The team was made up of technical professionals as well recruiters. It was great past graduates of IoT sector as well as one of the first TU Dublin graduates who studied on the Tallaght Campus as part of the Google team.
During the day, Googlers also presented to all the Computing undergraduate years talking mainly about internship and early career opportunities as well as the processes involved. One of our students in the audience had just recently completed a 3-month internship with Google which was a nice surprise. The Googlers also presented to our new 1st Year students who were completing their first week at university. Google were blown away by the energy in the room as well as the level and maturity of the questions posed. Well done first years!
We look forward to seeing the Googlers back on campus very soon.
