Biography

Prof. Mary Hunt completed her PhD in 2001 in the laboratory of Professor Stefan Alexson, Division of Clinical Chemistry, Karolinska Institute, Sweden. She subsequently moved to Amsterdam to work with Professor Ronald Wanders, Amsterdam Medical Centre, identifying patients with underlying acyl-CoA thioesterase deficiencies. She subsequently returned to the Karolinska Institute, funded by AFA Insurance Jubilee Foundation and in 2008 was appointed Associate Professor in Molecular Genetics. She returned to DIT in August 2010 and is currently appointed as the Head of the School of in the School of Biological Sciences.

Research Themes

Peroxisomes, Lipid metabolism and mechanism of action of metal based drugs.
