Dublin Lunar New Year: Chinese Idiom Stories and the Philosophy Behind Them with Dr Jun Ni

Dublin City Council has announced details of the programme for the Dublin Lunar New Year festival, which will run from 3 to 11 February 2024. This year will be the year of the Dragon, and everyone is invited to join in the celebrations.

As part of the celebrations, TU Dublin lecturer Dr Jun Ni will host a free lecture in the Central Quad in Grangegorman on Friday, 09 February, from 2-3pm. 

Chinese people often use idioms in spoken and written languages. Chinese idioms become one of the distinguishing features of the Chinese language. Chinese idioms reflect strong cultural implications because they are derived from historical stories or beautiful legends. At this event, Dr Ni will share some Chinese idiom stories and the philosophy behind them as part of the celebration of Dublin Lunar New Year 2024.
