to "be one of the top Irish universities for sustainability, recognised through the achievement of Green Flag awards for all campus locations."

TU Dublin takes a cross-disciplinary and collaborative approach to engaging our people inside and outside the classroom on environmental action. The Green-Campus programme at TU Dublin is aligned to multiple strategic projects and initiatives, and enjoys support and participation from students and staff across the entire University, as well as from our local community.

The Green-Campus Committee has undertaken a new and ambitious approach to achieve Green Flag accreditation under a single TU Dublin application for all of its five campus locations, which has been noted as the first of its kind for any multi-campus institution in Ireland. As part of the University's former institutional structure, which saw the merger of the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown, Dublin Institute of Technology and the Institute of Technology Tallaght, the original Green-Campus Committees re-established as a single committee in 2022.

Each of the five campus locations including Aungier Street, Blanchardstown, Bolton Street, Grangegorman and Tallaght, developed a three-year long programme of environmental review, action, engagement and assessment under the major themes of Litter & Waste and Energy, and minor themes of Transport & Travel and Biodiversity. Below details some of the University's major Green-Campus environmental achievements under our four chosen themes.

TU Dublin wishes to commend the great progress made by the Green-Campus Committee, the Green-Campus Co-Chairs Sarah Maher and Giacomo Di Capua, and the wider TU Dublin community including, students, staff (academic, professional services, senior management, Campus & Estates, Campus Planning), contracted staff, strategic project teams, and local partners, who each supported in many ways to progress environmental action across TU Dublin campuses.
