Incoming Erasmus+ and Exchange Students

To study with Technological University Dublin ( TU Dublin)  as an Erasmus or exchange student for a full academic year or one semester, your home university must already have an inter- institutional agreement (IIA) with TU Dublin, signed in the subject area you wish to study while here and you must then be nominated by your home University.

TU Dublin does not accept Free Movers (i.e. students who wish to study with us but whose home universities do not have an IIA with TU Dublin).  Students who wish to apply for a whole programme / or entry to complete your degree should contact our Admissions Office.  In this case you will be considered a fulltime student (not an Erasmus exchange student), and the usual admission procedures for full time students will apply.

Nominations

Nominations must be sent to our Incoming Erasmus Co-ordinator by the home university – TU Dublin does not accept nominations directly from students. To nominate student(s) to study on Erasmus, the home university must complete our Incoming Nomination Online Form a link to which can be requested from our Incoming Erasmus Co-ordinator at erasmus@tudublin.ie on or before the below deadlines.

Applications

After your nomination has been accepted at TU Dublin, you must then complete an online application to study as an Erasmus student.

You will receive an email from the TU Dublin Erasmus and Exchange Section to explain how to apply online and what documents are needed. This email with the online application link is sent to the e-mail address, the home university provides for you at nomination. Once you submit your application form, you will be contacted to confirm receipt of your application form. Two to three weeks after the application deadline, you will be informed if you have been accepted.

Our Erasmus and Exchange Section will then send you a ‘Letter of Acceptance’ via email and an ‘Erasmus Information Pack’ and will keep in contact with you by email prior to your arrival in Dublin.

Students accepted to TU Dublin on the Erasmus+ programme will be assigned to a specific TU Dublin School. Each School has nominated an Erasmus Academic Coordinator. At TU Dublin City campus, the School of Languages runs a number of different modules throughout the year, which are open to Erasmus students. These include English for Academic Purposes - EAP (5 ECTS), which is offered at Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate and Advanced levels, and Irish Cultural Studies (5 ECTS).

At TU Dublin Blanchardstown campus, EFL modules are offered at two levels each semester. Each module carries 5 ECTS .

At TU Dublin Tallaght campus, EFL modules are offered (5 ECTS) each semester at B1, B2 and (subject to sufficient numbers) C1 levels.

Please note it is NOT compulsory for you to pursue these modules. Places are subject to availability.
