The student will design and layout designs from simple mos amplifiers to compensated op amps. The student will use layout tools and simulation software during the course of this module.
MOS Devices
Mos devices operation characteristics, current equations, small and large signal models, capacitance models. Layout of NMOS and PMOS using layout tools. Simulation of NMOS and PMOS devices.
MOS Analogue Building Blocks
MOS active resistor, MOS capacitor, Design of current sinks and current sources using PMOS and NMOS. Layout and simulation of current sinks and sources.
MOS amplifiers
Design of inverter ampfilier, push pull. Small signal model anaylsis. Differienatl ampflifier design and analysis. Design of cascode amplifiers. Design of output stages. Layout of differiental and output stages.
Operational Amplifier Design
OP Amp design methodology, compensation of op amps, two stage op amp design. Layout and simulation of two stage op amps
