Introduction to Business

Being able to effectively manage yourself and others in a business environment requires key basic business skills. Such key skills include Communications skills as well as Management and Marketing skills. This module will provide a practical introduction to such skills and an opportunity to do so in a supportive environment where they can be applied to real-life situations through groupwork and individual assignments.

Developing a basic marketing plan for your business – keeping it constantly updated and relevant on an ongoing basis, taking account of relationship marketing in the selling of services.

Change Management and Cultural Diversity- Preparing staff for continuous change. Understanding and managing cultural diversity in the workplace

The focus is on student centred learning and involvement and practical application. This course is designed to enable the student to develop and apply specific communications, marketing and management skills in a variety of situations. The teaching methods will focus on lectures, discussions, student presentations and guest lectures.
