Module Overview

Concrete Technology

This module gives students a detailed knowledge of concrete as a structural engineering material. The properties of each of the constituent materials will be introduced and students will learn how to design a normal concrete mix. Students will learn how to test aggregates, as well as fresh and hardened concrete. Sustainability in design and material selection will also be discussed and students will calculate how much embodied carbon exists in concrete.
