Thesis Project

This module focuses solely on the production of the Dissertation research project whose development and progression is structured around a series of individual tutorials with a supervisor over the course of the semester. The learner is required to submit drafts of chapters in a structured and scheduled manner for feedback and comment. It requires the learner to manage and organise their research and writing process in a self-directed manner between these tutorials completing the project for a the formal deadline at the end of the semester.

The full and complete syllabus for the module is established and laid out in detail in the 'Thesis Handbook' which is updated annually and circulated to students at the latest in September of the terminal year.
This in summary addresses and specifies the anticipated size, shape and format of the dissertation including word count, deadline date, structure, font, layout, and citational style, etc. It further establishes the responsibilities of the student and the role of the supervisor, the anticipated milestones and schedule over the semester.

The research project is progressed through the learner been given individual one to one tutorials across the semester where drafts must be submitted every two weeks and feedback and comment offered on each of these drafts. The learner attends these tutorials prepared and organised to engage and respond to questions and discussion.
