Energy Policy and Economics

This module examines national and international long term energy trends and consumption patterns. It gives an insight into the energy trading market, security of supply, energy & environmental law and policy. It also examines the economics underpinning energy supply and use, the development of energy investment strategies; compliance with the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and other relevant EU directives.

This module will be taught by a series of lectures and assignments that will be formatively assessed. Use will be made of appropriate case studies, class group discussion and problem solving exercises. Learners are expected to undertake significant self-directed learning. E learning and Webcourses resources will be used where possible to enhance programme delivery.
