Module Overview

Finance Case

The module matter ranges from the planning and control of routine and non routine business operations to a consideration of the major strategic issues encountered in financial management. In recent years the job of the marketing executive has undergone radical change.   Companies have had to make complicated decisions about where and how to invest, and how best to fund the firm’s activities.   In doing this they have to choose between the vast array of new financial instruments and techniques which have evolved over the past number of years.   At the same time, organizations have become increasingly aware of the broader contribution of financial policy to their profitability.

An understanding of the principles of finance has also become particularly important for the general manager and non-financial expert.   These are the people who make the key decisions that ultimately create corporate wealth and are increasingly being called upon to communicate in the language of finance.

Sustainability is becoming more important to organisations. This module will help to embed sustainability in the students learning and practice.

The overall aim of the module is to develop, in the student, expertise necessary to analyse and resolves the firms operating financial issues from a managerial perspective.
