This module includes approaches and techniques in modelling business processes in the context of automating processes. The module also focuses on developing and deploying software robots for a defined business process using the latest robotic automations tools and techniques.
Business Process Modelling (30%)
Purpose of Business Process Modelling; Levels of the business process hierarchy: organisation, process, task level; Business Process Model Construction; POPIT model; Documenting tasks; BPMN, UML activity diagrams; Structured English; Business Process Improvement (e.g. removal of gaps and disconnects, process re-engineering), Process Mining and Task Mining; Sustainability Assessment
Robotic Process Automation (60%)
RPA basics; variables and arguments; selectors; control flow (e.g. sequence, loops); data manipulations; automation concepts and techniques(e.g. screen scraping, data scraping, excel and email automation); testing; orchestration(deploy, schedule, monitor and manage robots)
RPA Security and AI (10%)
Security Risks with RPA; risk mitigation best practices; AI opportunities (e.g. document recognition, computer vision, chatbots) AI Skills introduction and transparency.
