The development of Listening and Speaking skills
Identifying and summarising key information in pieces of authentic spoken language; Discussing and giving personal opinions on the topics studied.
The development of Reading and Writing skills
Identifying and summarising key information in pieces of authentic written language, including current press; Producing short texts with a higher degree of grammatical accuracy on familiar topics and topics relating to the module; Developing the skills to summarise the plot of a feature film or film extracts and a piece of literature and describing reactions to these.
Culture and Society: Cultural Diversity
Relevant historical developments; Foreigners and ethnic minorities in Germany; Racism; Stereotypes; Integration; Music.
Preparation for year abroad

Study of Film and Text
Adapted literary and journalistic texts; Poems; Songs; Short stories; Film.
