Intercultural Studies 2

The purpose of this module is to introduce the student to the concept of ‘race’ and racism and different theories surrounding these phenomena. The module allows the student to reflect on, appraise and discuss action that could be taken regarding racism at an individual, community or corporate level. It aims to develop the student's ability to apply the concepts of culture and theories on a practical level.The module allows the student to reflect on his/her own communication styles and devise ways to interact positively. Finally it provides an opportunity to use a multicultural/diversity lens when working with people from diverse cultural/ethnic backgrounds.
