Introduction to Higher Education 2

The module provides students with information regarding options for undergraduate study. Critically this module allows students to reflect on their learning styles and develop new skills and strategies that build on these styles and create more effective learners. Ultimately students will produce a Personal Development Plan that they can use to keep focused as they make their way through an undergraduate programme.

The module will be used to support Access Foundation students to plan for their academic and employment futures. It will also give students the skills to incorporate their learning into a Learning Development Plan. This plan will be produced week by week so that students are incorporating their learning into a final document, which they can use in the future. The module is delivered through a mixture of lectures, group work and seminars with guest speakers, workshops and production of a Personal Development Plan.
