The module will introduce the student to the basic Digital Media tools that will prepare her for the techniques & technologies used in other modules in current & later years. The module will familiarises students with blog and website creation. Each student will produce an individual web presence that forms the basis of an online portfolio.

Introduction to website and blog creation tools;Introduction to collaboration tools;Introduction to search engine optimisation;Introduction to web analytics;Designing a personal professional web presence.
Learning modes include weekly lectures, presentations & hands-on demonstrations of the various topics covered in the course. This module predominantly uses project based learning to ensure active participation and encourage students to learn by doing and reflect on what was learned. Group discussions are facilitated with practical laboratory practice.
