Module Overview

Ensemble 1

This module gives students the opportunity to perform in various types of ensemble contexts. Ensembles include Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Irish Traditional Music Ensemble, Chamber Choir and Choral Society. Each student will be involved in at least one ensemble activity during the year. The nature of the ensemble is dependent on instrument/voice.

Students must participate in all arranged public performances and attend all rehearsals; there is a strong emphasis on the development of both professionalism (in relation to attendance, participation, commitment) and artistry (in relation to the development of technical and interpretative awareness, critical skills and presentation and communication skills).

Core: All Stage 1 students

Option: This module is available to students and staff on other courses (subject to audition). For more information on the range of ensembles, please contact Ronan Grant, the ensembles manager.
