This module is delivered through weekly practical-based classes, listening, performance, demonstration  and discussion. Students will develop their repertoire of airs from three main sources: the Collectors, recordings of various musicians and their interpretation of airs, and recordings of singers from the sean nós and other song traditions (relevant to Slow Air performance). The student will be asked to prepare and perform a Slow Air every week to develop their performance awareness and musicianship skills. Strong emphasis is placed on the interpretation of Slow Airs studied from the Collectors, thus developing sight-reading abilities and musical literacy skills. Listening, analysis and discussions will feature prominently in the study of recorded singers through the different song traditions.
