Module Overview

Quantification of Building Work - Residential

This module introduces the student to the process and techniques used in the quantification of

building works for domestic type buildings. The use and interpretation of standard methods of

measurement as an integral aspect of the description and quantification process of general and

sustainable building materials will be explored. The students will be introduced to the concept of

Computer Aided Measurement software and the role it has in collaboration.

Services: Building related services including simple Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Installations.

SUSTAINABILITY:

Inclusion of the description and measurement of sustainable materials and processes.

International cost Management Standard (ICMS) offers a high-level framework against which life cycle costs and carbon emissions can be classified, defined, measured, recorded, analysed, presented and compared

Instruction is by means of structured lectures / tutorials (in class & virtual), classroom discussion and groupwork encouraging community and peer to peer learning.
