Module Overview

Seminar Series Reflective Diary

The content for this module will be agile, flexible and responds to the needs of learners. As students are in conversion mode, exploring new areas of theory and practice, each seminar will introduce current management and marketing practice, explore industry/sectoral dynamics and allow the learner to reflect on what they are learning in the ‘classroom’ in relation to practitioners ‘real world’ experience.  In addition, as these are conversion students, their transition from non-business domains in terms of knowledge, application and personal development will be captured and codified.

The topics will vary but will have a common theme of leading academics and practitioners presenting on cutting-edge aspects of management and marketing. Each semester at least three seminars will be delivered  for participants.

Participants will be encouraged to complete a weekly blog, reflecting on key aspects of theory and /or practice learnt on the programme. This will then inform a reflective diary which will be submitted at the end of semester 1 as a draft for review and feedback, and the final completed diary will be submitted at the end of semester 2.

Participants will be guided in the process of writing a reflective diary; the principles behind reflective learning and how to capture their learning journey.
