Module Overview

Surveying Capstone Project

The Surveying Capstone Project is a major project designed to facilitate leaners in their synthesis and integration of knowledge and learning acquired in taught modules and employment within the built environment sector.

The module is an individual endeavour and the learner is responsible for undertaking a critical investigation of a current programme-related problem, issue, or challenge. The learner is required to direct their learning from taught modules to refine their research proposal; to undertake an applied project with an appropriate rigorous methodology, and record and reflect upon their learning journey in an e-portfolio.

It is expected that learners become familiar with the Society of Chartered Surveyors (SCSI) professional pathway guide of relevance to their programme of study, and map competencies developed throughout their learning journey to those competencies. Particular cognisance of the role of the surveying profession in the development of a sustainable built environment is required.

The e-Porfolio developed as part of the module will form the basis of a final structured interview.
