This module integrates and follows on from previous biotechnology and microbiology modules and will incorporate the application of biological systems in biotechnological processes ranging from food, pharmaceutical and agricultural applications.

​Material is presented in both lecture and tutorial format. The emphasis in the final year is on self-directed learning, therefore students will be expected to research selected topics from the subject matter list using the information resources available to them.
