Module Overview

Product Surveillance for Environmental Health.

This module addresses the control of risk to human health from health products and a range of imported foods. Specific emphasis will be given to cosmetics and imported produce at Border Control Points ( B.C.P )  into Ireland. Health risks will include those that present from countries outside the European Union. The module will also examine risks relating to food supplements and food alerts relating to a range of health products

Bacterial and Chemical Risks associated with Health products such as Cosmetics.  Official Controls and enforcement action re non compliances.  Bacterial, Physical and Chemical Risks associated with foods of non-animal origin.  Increased level of Official Controls on a range of foodstuffs of non-animal origin.  Designated Points of Entry and Environmental Health Controls- Evaluation.  Specific Environmental Health Protocols re enforcement.  Health Risks relating to a range of food supplements.  RAPEX and RASFF Alerts relating to specific health products and foods not covered in other food safety modules.
