Module Description

A period of planned work experience in a relevant industry or research establishment.

 

Module Aims

To expose the student to the organisation and management of an industrial production/research facility

To provide the student with an opportunity to apply in an industrial setting the skills, understanding and concepts studied in the course curriculum

To develop in students the ability to integrate different subject areas in production/research

To allow students to benefit from the skills/expertise of food industry professionals

To allow students to enhance their professional development and graduate attributes

Workshop for reflective assessment

Preparation of learning agreement for work placement

Industrial placement/work experience review or training agreement with external supervisor

Oral presentation of industrial experience and learning

CV Preparation, digital footprint audit, LinkedIn, job searching careers workshop. 

Interviewing skills careers workshop

The student will learn through preparation, participation on-the-job, and on-going reflection of a work experience in a relevant industry or research establishment
