The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) program is a Level 8 undergraduate degree and students who successfully complete the course will graduate with a major award of 240 ECTS. It is taught across our campuses in Grangegorman, Aungier Street and Bolton Street in the heart of Dublin City.
The course is designed to help students grow creatively and intellectually by offering a wide range of learning options. It provides flexibility through different types of courses, including general education, major and minor subjects, and free electives. The program also gives students hands-on experience in many areas, supported by academic, research, and professional studies.
Structure
The Arts Degree is broken down into three curriculum components, totaling 240 ECTS credits.
Major Stream (80-120 ECTS credits)
Students are encouraged to explore a range of our 21 available Majors, with the formal selection of their preferred stream not required until the conclusion of Year 2.
Minor / Free Electives (40-80 ECTS credits)
Students benefit from a wide array of choices, as they can take free electives from the entire TU Dublin catalog. This includes the exciting opportunity to pursue minors, with over 40 unique options currently in development.
Core Curriculum (80 ECTS credits)
Throughout their four years, all Arts students will dive into a core curriculum designed to build essential skills and broaden their perspectives. This includes mandatory subjects that explore the fascinating role of technology in society. On top of that, students get to pick from a wide array of optional courses that teach valuable skills, ranging from communication and creativity to statistics and sustainability.
