Brightspace Training & Support For Staff

Please see the schedule below of in person training events taking place in the Blanchardstown and Tallaght campuses in May.
These in person training events are being delivered by our VLE guides and a complimentary lunch will be provided.
These training events will cover Managing Content, Quizzes, Assignments & Discussions and Grades.

The VLE guides will be available after each session from 15.00-16.00 to answer any additional questions if you would like to drop in.

We continue to offer online training sessions in two distinct areas.
Our VLE guides are providing 1-hour sessions in Managing Content and Quizzes, Assignments & Discussions and Grades.

Managing Content in Brightspace(1 hour)
This workshop introduces you to getting started with your module in Brightspace.
It includes an overview of your module homepage and an in-depth review of the Content tool in Brightspace.
You will learn how to create new materials, add existing material, and link to learning activities.

Quizzes, Assignments, Discussions in Brightspace(1 hour)
This workshop covers the Quizzes, Assignments, and Discussions tools in Brightspace.
You will learn how to use these three commonly used tools for learning activities, whether for formal assessment, formative learning, or communication in the module.

Grades in Brightspace(1 hour)
This workshop will cover the Grades tool in Brightspace which is used for tracking and presenting results of assessments in your module. You will learn how activities interact with grades, how to modify your gradebook, and how to enter and review results.

We are also offering a Migration Review Webinar which is 1 hour in duration.
The Migration Review Webinar will cover some of the key areas of your module to review after your materials have been migrated to Brightspace from Moodle.
It is recommended that before attending this webinar you have attended or watched recordings of the workshops offered on Content, Quizzes, Assignments, Discussions, and Grades as we will be modifying items and settings in these tools.

The VLE Guides will also be available online for any additional support by means of Drop-in sessions. Here they will be ready to answer any of the Brightspace questions you may have once you have begun creating content in your Sandbox environment.
