Julie Winget Power is a lecturer in the School of Social Sciences, Law and Education. She lectures on the BA Early Childhood Education and Care Programme teaching modules on Curriculum and Pedagogy, Literacy and Numeracy, Leadership, Management and Mentoring, Curriculum Development, Research and Practice Placement. Julie has worked in the Early Years Sector for over 34 years.
Julie’s research interests include STEM with a particular focus on Mathematics and Block Play in the Early Years, Curriculum Development and design and Pedagogy. Julie is currently studying for a PhD exploring the conceptualisation of pedagogy with Early Childhood Educators (ECE) in the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Sector in Ireland. Julie is an active member of the Executive Committee of PLÉ, the Irish Association of Academics in Early Childhood Education and Care in Higher Education.
