Lecturer
Jan Pettersen has worked as a practitioner in the Early Years sector on different levels for more than 10 years. After graduating from college with an honours degree, he worked as a Childcare Manager for several years.
He has also middle management experience from the IT sector, during which time he developed an interest in the area of Children and ICT, an area which is now the topic for his PhD Research.

Jan is Programme Chair for the Early Childhood Education programme in DIT (now TU Dublin) for the period 2011 - 2014.

Research Interests

Jan is currently working on his PhD thesis entitled; "ICT in the Early Years; an exploratory study of how young children engage with technology at home and in the School setting".
He does also have research interests in the following two areas: "Gender in Care Professions" and in particular, Men in Childcare, and Business & Management in Early Years services.
