With over twenty five years’ experience in the education sector, I am a psychologist and educator who enjoys high levels of responsibility and challenge in my work environment. I am the Director of The Research Centre For Psychology, Education And Emotional Intelligence (PEEI) https://www.tudublin.ie/peei and I have extensive experience with respect to research design, research management and postgraduate supervision.

At PEEI, we are particularly interested in research that focuses on improving physical and mental wellbeing to enable individuals and communities to thrive.

We partner with organisations, big and small, which support vulnerable and dependant individuals and work with them to build an evidence base to support the vital work that they do.
We work with students and educators to create supports and conduct research to promote teaching and learning.
We develop strategies to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles as a means of improving mental and physical health.

I have published extensively in the fields of education and mental health and I am an experienced research manager. Recent, funded projects have included completion of a €1.4m study pertaining to graduate employability funded by the Higher Education Authority of Ireland and a review of the use of behavioural economics in the Irish justice sector that was commissioned by the Irish Department Of Justice. Local organisations that PEEI have partnered with include The Irish Cancer Society, Age Action Ireland, The Football Association Of Ireland, Mother Tongues and The National Learning Network.
