I am a lecturer on both the Applied Social Care and Early Childhood Education and Care programmes, in the Tallaght campus for the past 8 years. I teach modules including Introduction to Society and Social Care, Sociology of Childhood, Managing Relationships in Social Care and Social Policy in Practice. I am also a part of the placement team.
Background:
I completed my master’s in social work in University College Cork. Before I stated lecturing, I practiced social work and I have extensive experience of working in the probation services, with children in care and with people with disabilities.
My approach to teaching is to create a comfortable atmosphere where students can engage in a collaborative conversation and various perspectives can be explored.
