Catherine Gorman is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Hospitality Management and Tourism.  Her role involves teaching in areas relating to sustainability,  supervision of undergraduate and PhD students, and she  is presently part of a number of projects which are involved in embedding sustainability into, and across the curriculum.  More recent roles have included Programme Chair of BSc in Sports and Leisure Management.  Catherine is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and University College Dublin (UCD) and prior to joining TU Dublin, she worked with Fáilte Ireland and at the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin, Dublin.

 

Research Interests:

  • Sustainability (with particular focus on social and environmental aspects) in Tourism, Sport and Leisure
  • Active Leisure and Aging School Lead: Research Pillar: Healthy Societies
  • Culture and Heritage Tourism
  • Co-operative and collaborative strategies in Tourism and Leisure
  • Pedagogies: Community based research and learning, out of classroom approaches to teaching and pedagogies associated with co-creation.
