Nevan Bermingham is a lecturer in a range of disciplines on the TU Dublin’s International & Access Foundation Programmes and across programmes within the School of Hospitality Management & Tourism, including: Electronic Engineering; Computer Science; Management Theory; Marketing, and Project Management. He is also a guest lecturer in ‘Digital Tourism and Tourism Technology’ for the Strategic Event Management and Tourism Management Master’s Degree Programmes at the SKEMA Business School in Nice, France.

Prior to joining the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT (Now TU Dublin)) in 2013, Nevan’s professional experience includes a range of strategic managerial and technology roles within Mobile Telecommunications and ITC companies such as Telefonica O2, Dell Computers and Logica Mobile Networks. Nevan is a graduate from DIT and holds qualifications in Electronic Engineering, Applied Science and Computer Science, as well as a Masters Degree in Business & Entrepreneurship. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Third Level Learning and Teaching and a PhD in Computer Programming Education.

Nevan’s publications include research on creating and evaluating bespoke mobile applications for improving the student experience and acculturation to higher education and Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) programmes for undergraduates studying traditionally difficult subjects. One such project, the “Get Smart App”, designed to help with first-year student orientation, was awarded first place on the International eLearning Excellence Awards at the Charles University Prague in 2016.
