Dr Theresa Ryan is a lecturer at the School of Hospitality Management & Tourism at TU Dublin. She lectures on a range of event and tourism management programmes as well as supervising dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Theresa has extensive international lecturing experience and has been involved in the delivery of a joint Event Management programme between TU Dublin and the University of Hainan. She is PhD co-ordinator for the School of Hospitality Management and Tourism and is Programme Chair for the MSc in Event Management, Tourism Management & Hospitality Management Programmes as well as Stream co-ordinator for the MSc in Event Management. She is currently supervising a number of doctoral projects and is chair of the school Culture & Heritage Research pillar. Theresa has been involved in a number of funded research projects and is currently a co-investigator on two European projects including the Erasmus funded Next Tourism Generation Alliance (NTG) on skills development for tourism, and the HERA funded FESTSPACE project which explores festivals, events and inclusive public space. She has published in the areas of tourism, heritage interpretation; events, social connections & place identity.
