Fernanda is a Senior Research Assistant at the School of Hospitality Management and Tourism. She holds a master’s degree and doctorate in Social History, and prior to her current role in TU Dublin she has been a visiting researcher in the School of Portuguese, Spanish and Latin American Studies at University College Cork. Fernanda has also worked for six years as an assistant lecturer and researcher at the Fluminense Institute of Technology in Brazil, where she held management roles, as learning and research director, cultural coordinator and coordinator of the social memory and heritage centre of the Institute.

Research Projects:

  • NTG - Next Tourism Generation Skills Alliance: a European Commission Erasmus+ funded project which aims to develop the blueprint for sectoral cooperation on skills in tourism. Fernanda develops research on providing policy recommendation, tools and best practices in education and training in green, digital and social skills for the tourism industry and education providers.
