Senior Lecturer in Computing with a track record of collaboration with industry for project and research work. Coordinator of the research project module on various taught master’s programmes; and has supervised more than 30 students in their research work.

Primarily involved in the teaching of software development and cloud computing programmes at level 8 and 9. Gary has been involved in teaching and project work in software development, web and mobile applications development, software testing, DevOps, and cloud computing.

Has attracted research funding for research work with industry under several Enterprise Ireland schemes including Innovation Partnerships and Feasibility grants. Has acted as an external examiner with more than 5 other higher education institutes in Ireland.

Specialties:  software development (Rust, Java, C++, Python, and C# etc.); functional programming; web, mobile, cloud (Azure); software quality and testing; DevOps; containers and micro-service architectures; quantum computing and quantum programming.
