Róisín Faherty is Head of Information Systems in the School of Enterprise Computing and Digital Transformation in TU Dublin. Róisín has over 22 years of experience as a lecturer in Computing at Technical University Dublin Tallaght Campus. She received a BSc in Computer Science in 1997 and an MSc in Information Technology for Strategic Management in 2002. Róisín worked as a software developer for several years before becoming a lecturer. She has recently started her PhD in Computer Science Education and won the SIGSCE ACM travel grant in 2019.
Róisín also volunteers as part of a group called CSinc (Computer Science Inclusive) which provides outreach to schools nationally as well as teacher PD in Computer Science. She also works alongside the PDST to support the delivery of teacher training for the new Leaving Certificate Computer Science (LCCS) subject and was a contributor to the new LCCS book due for publication in the summer of 2020. Róisín is an active researcher in Computer Science education and has had several publications in the past few years.
