National Workplace Wellbeing Day

Published: 30 Apr, 2025

Wednesday 30th April is the 11th National Workplace Wellbeing Day!

On Wednesday 30th April we celebrate our commitment to workplace wellbeing. Our aim is to create a workplace where 'people love to work and learn' and we are committed to creating as a University, a ‘Culture that Cares’. This is a culture that recognises and values the unique contribution of our colleagues and is characterised by empathy, support and focuses on enhancing the overall wellbeing of colleagues.

National Workplace Wellbeing Day offers us a moment to rebalance and refocus on ensuring that everyone feels valued and supported.

On National Workplace Wellbeing Day, we encourage you to take some time to find out about our mental health champions, explore our TU Dublin Workplace Wellbeing Framework Thrive and to check out the following events are taking place on 30 April:

TU Dublin Mental Health Champions

By embedding wellbeing into everyday conversations and initiatives, TU Dublin’s Mental Health Champions contribute to a more supportive university community. This initiative supports the goals and aims of See Change, the national charity to end stigma around mental health.

TU Dublin has signed up to the See Change Workplace Pledge as part of our on-going commitment to support awareness of Mental Health and challenge mental health stigma. TU Dublin’s Mental Health Champions are staff volunteers who are passionate about developing a culture that cares across the university. They play a vital role in raising awareness, promoting positive mental health, and signposting colleagues to available supports.

The champions are not counsellors or therapists, instead they offer peer support, which involves an empathic listening ear, sharing resources, and helping to break down stigma around mental health. To find out more click here.
