Peer mentoring

Peer Support at Grangegorman, Aungier Street and Bolton Street

In our Peer Mentoring programme, second and final-year students are assigned a group of first-year students. The first-y‌ear ‌students can raise questions about their course, assignments, exams and other issues. The mentors share what they have learned to support them (their mentees). This helps the mentees to understand their own experiences better, to feel more comfortable in novel situations and to develop skills to take on new challenges.

The peer mentoring also enables mutual learning. Mentors and mentees alike can improve their skill sets around communication, leadership, academic study and social awareness.
