Hugh leads the Enterprise Academy's collaboration in the Creative & Cultural sector. Before joining the Enterprise Academy, Hugh spent eight years as Head of the TU Dublin School of Media where he cultivated deep links with the screen industry and developed industry-relevant programmes at all levels. He continues this work in collaboration with Screen Ireland to support their goal in providing new accredited pathways into the screen industry.
With more than 20 years of experience working in the Media and ICT domains, Hugh has developed a deep understanding of the skills needed within the screen, digital media and entertainment industries. He has a track record of building innovative, industry-relevant, practically focused programmes in the areas of Game Design, Creative Leadership, Advanced Producing, Digital Media, Immersive Technologies. He also led the development of one of the new National apprenticeships in CG Technical Art (animation).
Hugh holds degrees in Hospitality Management, Information Technology and an M.Phil in Virtual Reality. He is also a three-time Olympic Chief Triathlon Technical Official and became the first Irish person to hold the position of Technical Delegate at an Olympic games level event at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games Triathlon.
