Housing Data ~ Sonified 23/04/2024

The collaborative project, supported by an Arts Council Bursary, explores the sonification of data related to Ireland’s severe housing crisis.

The artists have sifted through data from sources including CSO, Central Bank, and Global Property Guide looking for insight about what is driving the crisis and the suffering caused by it, and converted the data directly to a multi-movement work for violin, piano and readings of appropriated/found texts.

Through subtle sonic nuances, hidden patterns in this plethora of data may become audible.  This event will also feature a new work for uilleann pipes and keyboard with Mark Redmond (pipes) and David Bremner.
