Shirin Goudarzi-Tobin was born in Tehran where she began her musical studies. She was awarded a scholarship to study at the Hochschule für Musik Vienna, where she obtained her teaching and performing degrees. She came to live in Dublin in 1985 and since then has been an active chamber musician and soloist. She has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra and has made several recordings for RTE radio and television. She also holds an MA degree in Performance and Musicology from NUI Maynooth and lectures at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.
