Academic Studies

The Department of Academic Studies is responsible for all of the academic content of the full-time music degree programmes and also provides a graded system of Musicianship classes for Junior Conservatory and part-time students.  The department sees itself as underpinning the performance activities of the Conservatory while at the same time encouraging and strengthening its research profile both in academic research and in creative practice.  The department offers certificate, degree and postgraduate programmes as well as supervising a significant number of students engaged in MPhil and doctoral research.

Resources

TU Dublin Music and Drama Library is one of seven libraries within  TU Dublin Library Service.  This library houses a broad range of resources such as books, LPs, music CDs, scores, theses and videos.  Electronic resources including electronic journals and databases are available online, as are subject based resources in music and drama.

The entire holdings of TU Dublin libraries, their locations and current status are displayed on the OPAC (On-Line Public Access Catalogue).  Please feel free to visit any of the Libraries – Library staff are always willing to help you if you are unsure of where to find the information you need.  Remember that TU Dublin staff and students may borrow from any of the TU Dublin libraries.

See the Music and Drama Library Blog for information on events, conferences, library news and other useful information.
