Bakery Transition Year Skills Challenge 2022 - collaboration with local secondary schools and TU Dublin

After a two-year break, The School Culinary Arts and Food Technology in conjunction with the TU Dublin Access and Civic Engagement Office hosted a bakery workshop and skills challenge for TY students at our new city campus, in the Central Quad, Grangegorman on 15th March.

This annual fun challenge began in 2015. The aim of the bakery challenge is to give local TY students from the North Inner-City the opportunity to experience what it’s like being a student in a third level educational setting while engaging with bakery lecturers in a creative and fun environment.  The lecturers hold a practical baking and pastry masterclass, which sets a challenge for and is mindful of the secondary students baking abilities.
