Winner of numerous national and international industry and academic awards including World Champion for Elite Bartenders.  James is also author of a number of bar and beverage management plus Responsible Sale and Service of Alcohol books and trade related articles. James serves as external examiner and educational advisor to many trade associations and colleges. He holds an MA –Masters Degree (2010) and PG. Cert (2008) in Third Level Teaching and Learning, MSc-Masters Degree (2004) in Hospitality Management. James has a strong background in the food, bar and beverage industry in Ireland and abroad, having previously managed at all levels within the licensed industry (1982-2004). James is a recognised expert in the field of bar and beverage management education he acts as an external examiner and expert consultant to industry bodies, culinary colleges, governmental and non-governmental agencies plus international food and drinks companies. James is currently undertaking his Doctoral research study in the field of 'Dublin's Victorian Pubs'.
