Architectural Technologist & BIM Manager - RKD Architects

Deborah Moynihan studied Architectural Technology in DIT Bolton Street graduating in 2007 with a BSc in Architectural Technology with Distinction. She later returned to complete the TU831 BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology programme, graduating in 2010 with 1st Class Honours.

Deborah worked for Murray O’Laoire Architects from 2007 to 2009, gaining practice experience on a wide range of projects. Having completed the BSc (Hons) in 2010 she commenced practice with RKD Architects where she remains today.

During her time in RKD she has gained experience on a wide range of projects and building types, preparing drawings and documents at all project stages. These include commercial offices, educational buildings, life sciences, research and pharmaceutical facilities in Ireland and mainland Europe. These include the Microsoft Ireland Dublin Campus, the extension of the UCD Quinn School of Business, and the AHZ Central Pharmacy for Den Haag Hospitals in the Netherlands.

Deborah's role in RKD Architects is that of senior Architectural Technologist and BIM Manager. She developed an interest in BIM during her return to college and has played a leading role in its implementation on many projects in the practice. In her role as BIM Manager Deborah also trains new and existing staff in the use of various BIM software packages and oversees the day-to-day activities of the BIM team to ensure office standards are maintained in the creation of the architectural digital model.
