TU Dublin President Dr Deirdre Lillis welcomes Minister of State Frank Feighan to Grangegorman

TU Dublin President Dr Deirdre Lillis welcomed Minister of State for Public Procurement, Digitalisation and eGovernment Frank Feighan TD to the University’s Grangegorman campus for the Build Digital National Conference 2026: Infrastructure and the Weather.

Bringing together government, industry and academia, the conference explored how Ireland can deliver the major infrastructure it needs while ensuring it is resilient to a changing climate. Discussions focused on climate adaptation, digital construction, data, BIM and emerging technologies.

As lead partner of Build Digital, TU Dublin is at the heart of a national initiative supporting the digital transformation of Ireland’s construction and built environment sector. Working with academic partners, government, public clients, professional bodies and industry, Build Digital is developing practical approaches to digital construction and supporting greater productivity across the sector.

Opening the conference, Dr Lillis highlighted the distinctive role of a technological university in connecting education, research and industry practice, and in developing the skills and knowledge needed to deliver Ireland’s infrastructure for the future.
