Fred joined CREST in 2021 as a Materials Research Scientist

• Working mainly on metal surface treatment and SEM analysis
• Current project pertains to the optimization of the metal surface treatments for Titanium and Magnesium in preparation for use in biomedical implants
• Duties extend to other areas such as data analysis, sample preparation for SEM and EDX analysis and carrying out sample analysis.

• Electrochemistry -  Anodizing, electrolytic cleaning, potentiodynamic scanning
• Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis
• Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analysis
• Analyzing a range of samples including metal surfaces, fibrous material and particulate matter
