QQI FET Applicants

At TU Dublin, we value the skills, knowledge, and experience gained through Further Education and Training (FET). We welcome applications from students presenting QQI Level 5 or Level 6 major awards (previously known as FET/FETAC awards).

Each year, TU Dublin offers over 500 first-year places to QQI/FET applicants across our Higher Certificate, Ordinary Degree and most Honours Degree courses.

How to Apply

All applications must be made through the Central Applications Office (CAO). To be eligible, applicants must hold a full major award at Level 5 or 6. Please note that Component Certificates (minor awards) are not sufficient for entry.

Please note, a QQI Level 5 or 6 qualification is not accepted for entry to either TU867 Medical Science and TU870 Human Nutrition & Dietetics.

Entry September 2026

For September 2026, we have revised our QQI Minimum Entry Requirements (MERs), which have been simplified and are designed to broaden access by increasing the number of QQI pathways available to our courses.

QQI Entry Requirements differ for each of our courses, so please refer to the relevant course page for specific details on QQI Entry Requirements for that course. QQI Entry Requirements can also be viewed on the CAO website.

Students researching QQI/FET progression routes may also find Qualifax useful. The website includes a search function that allows users to enter a module code to identify PLC/QQI courses that contain the modules needed for progression into TU Dublin courses.

The updated framework is outlined in detail in the following PDF document:
